Stuck on the one thing that won't click?

Bring it exactly as it sits in your head. Messy is fine.

A typical question

if mom is blood type A and dad is type B can they have a type O baby? my teacher said yes but that doesnt make sense

Good question. Let's untangle it together.

A student asks: if mom is blood type A and dad is type B, can they have a type O baby? The teacher said yes, but it doesn't make sense to them. The tutor circles the confusing part and says: good question, let's untangle it together.

Lesson transcript (English)
  1. You if mom is blood type A and dad is type B can they have a type O baby? my teacher said yes but that doesnt make sense
  2. Theo Hey, I'm Theo, let's clear up this blood type mystery together!
  3. Theo It completely makes sense why that feels weird at first glance!
  4. You idk i thought a and b parents can only make ab kids
  5. Theo That is super common to think, especially since A and B combine to make AB!
  6. Theo Here is the trick: the allele for Type O is actually written as a lowercase i, and it is completely recessive.
  7. You type a i guess but the i just disappears? so how would the baby get o if neither parent has o
  8. Theo Boom, exactly, they show Type A!
  9. You they would both have to pass down i? so the i hides in them and the baby gets one from each
  10. Theo You nailed it, that is the exact big lightbulb moment!

A real recorded lesson. A student asks how two parents with blood types A and B can have a type O baby. The tutor draws the three blood-type alleles, circles the hidden one, writes the genotypes, and finishes with a Punnett square that shows the baby can be type O. The full transcript is below the board.

  • A and B parents can have an O child if each carries a hidden i.
  • A Punnett square shows the odds: 1 in 4.

?Questions

Good questions

Is Ahaboard really free to start?

Yes. Your first 30 minutes are free with no card. After that, free accounts get 2 lessons a day of up to 10 minutes each. Paid plans remove the limits.

Is this cheating?

No more than a tutor is. Ahaboard explains the steps, asks you to try the next one and checks your thinking. It is built so you can do the next problem on your own. Please follow your school's rules on AI.

How accurate is it?

Before it speaks, it writes private teacher's notes: the worked solution, the likely mistakes and the teaching order. Graphs are computed, not eyeballed. Mistakes are rarer, not impossible, so ask it to double-check and confirm important facts with your teacher or textbook.

Does it really teach in my language?

Yes. It speaks and writes on the board in English, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean or Malay, and you can switch in the middle of a lesson without losing your place.

Can I use my own notes, photos or PDFs?

Yes. Add a photo of your homework, a PDF, slides, a text file or a link, and the lesson is built from it.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes, in your phone's browser, with nothing to download. You can also add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.

Do I have to talk to it?

No. Voice is optional. You can type everything, turn on captions, and tap any line on the board to ask about it.

What happens to my data?

There are no ads. Your lessons are not used to train AI models, and your voice is not stored. Lessons are saved to your account so you can replay them, and you can download or delete everything from your Account page.

Who is it for?

It is made for students aged 13 and up, from high school to college, and for anyone learning something new.
